The Victoria Film Festival created a film series last year that inspired technological innovation, brought people together and revealed the heart of our city. ConVerge returns in 2010, taking place in and around the many beautiful historic buildings, walkways and landmarks of the Harbour, Bastion Square and Trounce Alley.

Where do you like to watch?

The Maritime Museum?
A parked car?
A loft on Yates.
A rooftop in Trounce Alley?
Over a cup of coffee?

Everything is fair game as ConVergers take to the streets and unique spaces of our city to see how far the Festival can push the new technology.

We’ve searched the world for wonderful short films and also gotten local Victorians to produce some of their own. Then we found some terrific, unusual and sometimes odd places to show them.  After that we got crazy with the technology.  You’ll watch films on a projector you can hold in your hand, we’ll play with video walkmans, portable DVD players, and we’ll even take you back to the past with hand cranked players.

Search the city’s most unusual and interesting locations for a fantastic series of short films from across the country and around the world that will challenge any preconceived notions about why and how we watch movies. Join us in an afternoon of play that demonstrates the explosion of changes in our collective film experience.
