Just 80 Days Away PDF Print E-mail
With our fundraiser, Art of the Cocktail, now wrapped up (click here for wrap-up blog), it's time to re-focus on the largest film festival Vancouver Island has to offer;

The Victoria Film Festival is now in its 16th year and has attracted many interesting celebrities to the city over the years. The evolution of youth programming, via the innovative FilmCAN that lets grade school students get their own short film into the main festival, and guests such as John Waters, Atom Egoyan, David Foster and Barry Pepper have all helped the festival gain International acclaim as well as a strong local presence.

Next up is always a sought after ticket in town; the opening night gala. As the social media person for VFF, I'm going to push for getting a couple tickets as giveaways on Twitter, but that might be asking a little much. I'll see what I can do though.

Then, just 80 days away, January 29th, is the start of the Festival itself. I'm excited to start finding out what's playing and who's coming this year. There's going to be some amazing independent film (the best type of film) again this year and I, like the rest of the masses, can't wait. The only disappointing thing is that with VFF kicking off the year, it doesn't leave much to look forward to for the rest of the year ;)
